Upcoming Tokyo Events

In addition to the SAFECAST x E2D3 visualisation hackathon on Nov. 3, 2016, we have a few more upcoming events in Tokyo. Mark your calendars!

Nov 14th, 2016 – 7:30pm: SAFECAST x RSA JFN lecture – “Radiation & Science Journalism”

In conjunction with the Japan Fellows’ Network of the UK Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), Safecast will be holding a public event with former BBC journalist Takeshi Shimizu, and science journalist Yuki Koide. The presentations and discussions will focus on the problems and shortcomings of official communication after the start of the Fukushima Daiichi NPP disaster, and on how Safecast and others sought to fill the information vacuum. The presentations and discussion will be in Japanese, and light food and drinks will be served.  An admission fee will be charged, and advance reservation is requested.

Location: LOFTWORK, 10th floor event space in Shibuya. Map and address info here.

Our annual shinnenkai is an opportunity to gather our volunteers, say thanks, and bring everyone up to date on our progress and plans. It’s also a good chance to meet new people and connect up. Save the date!
