Volume 2 of the Safecast Report is now available for download. Like Volume 1, issued last year, this report provides an update about developments related to the Safecast project as well as summaries of reports and research findings concerning the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi NPP site, in the environment, for evacuees, for food, and for health. Volume 1 contained a lot of basic background information about the institutions and agencies involved, regulations and guidelines, and what initial post-disaster research and major reports had indicated. We wanted Volume 2 to be a stand-alone document which wouldn’t require people to refer back to Volume 1 for this kind of information, so the new report also includes a lot of it, while adding over 40 pages of new material. At 105 pages overall it’s a long read, but it’s very manageable section-by-section. You can download it directly from the link below, or jump to the Safecast Report page of this blog. In coming days we’ll be making it available in other formats.
